Summer

Malaysia's been great. The flight back was not very eventful, except we later found out that the passenger occupying seat 55C was carrying the H1N1 virus. I sat next to two people who did not try to strike up conversation so I didnt bother either. One of them was this Malay man guzzling down as much beer as he could before reaching KL. He kept looking at me, I suspect because he knew that I was aware of his haram deeds.

Havent done anything that exciting back in KL. Have been to Taylors in Subang to meet the subang college goers. Have been driven to Petaling street (ive never been!) for some sunday afternoon KL exposure. Watched the wimbledon finals. Followed my mum shopping. Followed my dad to the airport to send Gavin off. Met people for dinner. And lunch. Mandarin. Shhh. Recieved a shirt which says "I love to play with myself" on the back. Got an allergic reaction in the middle of the night. Saw my grandmothers. Watched Obsessed today, it was a decent film.

Things looking up next week! On friday Im following my parents to HK, just for the weekend. Back on very early Monday morning. Anthony coming on Tuesday night. Good times. =)

omg summer

The school term ended today and Im really looking forward to going home tomorrow. Am currently bearing the status of L6 GIH person having spent the longest time away from home. Havent been home since christmas and I really need a break. The past couple of weeks leading up to the end of terms have been pretty eventful. Series of coursework which led to painful evenings and staying up all night to meet the morning deadline. It was a very bad night and it left me wondering why I chose to do the IB. We also had our extended essay days where I spent doing things such as

blending leaves; and also staring into the microscope for hours.
We also had the last events of the boarders olympics together with boarders barbeque last sunday.

At least it wasnt raining, and there was human table football.

This week we also had our promo reunion dinner, finally after having postponed it about 5 times. It was great, with everyone there and we dined locally at spice club because it was indian. Andie and I even ordered something called Jaipuri because Andie said thats where we were in India. (Actually we were in Jodhpur, we were only a night in Jaipur on the way back. But there was no Jodhpuri dish.)

Yesterday to end the year nicely we had our own breakup supper barbeque on GIH lawn. Good times. Picture courtesy of Tasha. We dont have many pictures as a house. Well I guess this marks the end of the first year of sixth form. Its been a great year (most of the time)

Costi came back to join us. Shes recovering nicely from her accident which is good (:

Also Michael Jackson died yesterday which is quite unfortunate. However what matters now is Im going home tomorrow so Ill see most of you in the next few weeks. Cant wait =)

GIH ball

I thought the work situation would improve after the exams but turns out the IB likes coursework and this requires us to do experiment related things and keep report/portfolio pieces. I'd much rather a hundred percent of my grade came from the actual exam paper in the end without having to worry about coursework. Especially maths :(
Well the first saturday back after halfterm was GIH's 7 Deadly Sins. It was quite a low budget event, we spent about 3 days making the decorations ourselves and spent our money on the marquee, DJ, and dance floor.
IMG_4009
Like other events the party planner people would come in the morning to set everything up, and this time they threw in a podium with a pole, which was put to good use. The turnout was pretty good, about 145 people from our year showed up.
IMG_4022
Filled up marquee. And the unsightful back of andrew dawsons head. Most people spent their night in the marquee but some of us retreated indoors for peace and quiet (:

The pole was pretty popular, there was a bit of hype over this picture with regards to Danny's interactions with the pole. Observe closely.
 fatsuit
Gluttony and his fatsuit.

I think the most interesting outfit was Andie's wrath intepretation. She had about 15 pink balloons attached to her torso all around.
andie
She's meant to be "Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck. Never heard of the book but it was kind of funny. Someone should have gone as a white round thing and be The Pearl by john steinbeck. Haha... vanity/pride, get it?

Well I'll be home two weeks today (:

summer?

angels--demons-movie-poster_317x470
Watched Angels and Demons on monday night. Have never read any of Dan Browns books or watched the da vinci code, so I was initially quite worried that I wouldnt understand and end up asking loads of questions. But it was quite a good movie. Other than that I also watched the curious case of benjamin button, and marley and me after the exams. The latter two because they both recieved fairly good reviews. Marley and me was a disappointment. After all the hype it recieved, and after hearing bout people crying over it I expected something more. Then again i have never been a huge fan of animal movies.

Half term again in 2 days. Going home in 5 weeks! Not much time really. GIH ball before school breaks up, feedback from last year was pretty encouraging. I guess because ours is in the summer and exams are over so its going to be really fun. Everyone should go. Our theme is 7 Deadly Sins so be creative and turn up (: I had many ideas, but most of them have been shot down due to their pathetic nature. Either ways Im sure it'd be an awesome event!
